Introductions

Hello friends new and old! Starting with an introduction seems like the best place to start with these types of things.

My name is Troy. I was born and raised in Minnesota. At almost a half-century through my life, I’ve spent the last 10+ years realizing and embracing my reverence for the divine feminine nature of the universe. My hope here is to start collecting and sharing some of my thoughts and discovered resources in a location where others might be able to benefit from them.

When I was a child, like most kids I always gravitated towards nature. I loved hanging out in the trees, alone or with my friends. Along with nature, creativity was my jam; drawing, crafting, imagining all sorts of games. These places and activities were my home no matter the season and weather, I wanted to be part of creation and the world surrounding me.

As I moved into grade school, I discovered that often my friends were the girls in the class. They were courageous, wise, friendly and caring. These were qualities that I cherished even as a young kid. The boys in contrast were aggressive, performative, and physical trying to constantly challenge each other. Games like king of the hill were all too common in the schoolyard, while I just wanted to create, to build relationships and community.

I moved into my later years of school and into college, I still found myself gravitating to many of the same kinds of people. I cherished the relationships with the women in my life. My grandmothers who always provided a welcoming home were an inspiration to the kind of person I wanted to be. I shed my Catholic upbringing and found solace in the principles of Taoism inspired by the book, The Tao of Pooh.

Fast forward through much of my adult life, marrying the love of my life, raising a handful of kids. I was still searching for spiritual home for my energy, curiosity, and faith.

I began embracing neofeminism, women leading in all aspects of life, my pull to nature, and found a peaceful path in divine feminine spirituality. I realized that all things in this world are the result of creation. The feminine aspect is the embodiment and source of all creation in this world. If creation is inherently feminine, then my god is a woman too …or more appropriately, my goddess.

So blessed be the eternal mother, the great goddess, momma earth and all of her representations. I’m inspired to love, create, share, and build.

With love and gratitude,

Troy
